Practical Info

Conference venue and facilities

The participants are accomodated and the conference will take place in Hotel Elizabete at Dzirnavu street 2, phone: +371 67821909, Fax: +371 67821908, e-mail: vl.letohetebazile|ofni#vl.letohetebazile|ofni. Please note that there are several hotels in Riga named after Elizabete, making things rather confusing, so note the address. Here is a Google map of the venue. There is free wi-fi in the hotel.

Airport pick-up will be ordered for those participants who have kindly informed us about their arrival times - you should look for a driver holding a sign "TOL/PROVIDUS" at the arrivals. We have clustered together those of you arriving within a short time of each other, please check the list of arrival clusters here to see with whom you'll be sharing the taxi. You do not need to pay for the transfer. Transportation will be similarly organised for your departures.

Arriving by bus: please exit the bus station through the main door, cross the street and take tram No 7 or 9 (direction Ausekla iela) for three stops to the end station - "Ausekla iela". From there it's a 10 minute walk to the hotel, please check the GoogleMap where the tram stop is marked. Basically, once you get out of the tram, turn right and walk along Elizabetes until the big intersection, cross diagonally (towards Narvesens convenience shop)and continue up Pulkveza Brieza for 2 blocks until you are at Dzirnavu, turn right and you have arrived!

Breakfast is included in the room charge, lunch will be provided at the conference venue free of charge to registered participants on Thursday and Friday and there is a modest welcome reception at a nearby KID restaurant on Thursday at 18.30.

Getting around

There are several restaurants, a pizzeria an coffee shops within a block of the hotel. Old Town is 15 minutes walking distance through parks. If however you'd prefer to take a tram to the Old Town, the stop is indicated on the Googlemap. Trams No 7 and 9 will take you there in 3 stops (you should get out at the National Opera). You can buy the tram tickets in advance for 0,40 LVL in the Narvesen shop or from the tram driver for 0,50 LVL. The tickets then need to get time-stamped on the tram.
